 The 2007 Outstanding Young Californian Awards The California Jaycees Foundation and California Junior Chamber annually select and honor Outstanding Young Californians. Each honoree is awarded the crystal OYC trophy. The awards ceremony dramatizes each winner's career in narrative form and provides a stage for the honorees to challenge and inspire California's youth. The evening will begin casually browsing and bidding on silent auction items while you enjoy your favorite cocktail or non-alcoholic beverage...and all in the company of good friends and fellow Jaycees. Mitchell Englander - Nominated by the San Fernando Valley Jaycees Chief of Staff, LA City Councilman Gerig Smith, Founding chair of "Los Angeles Political Roast," an ADA fund raising event which raises millions for Diabetes research. Kelly McCarthy Sutherland - Nominated by the Salinas Jaycees Attorney at Law with Lombardo & Gilles, 2007 Salinas Jaycees Citizen of the Year honoree. Briana Margaret Walker - Nominated by the Newport Beach Jaycees Colours Wheelchairs Spokesperson, author of "Dance Anyway," her book which chronicles her life from her tragic accident to the person she is today. Blake Ross - Nominated by Debbie Holbrook Co-founder of Mozilla Firefox and currently creating new user interfaces to bridge the gap between the desktop and the web. Gina Elise- Nominated by Michael Higby Founder "Pin Ups For Vets", a program designed to benefit hospitalized Veterans. Robert Santos - Nominated by the Pasadena Jaycees Director of IT and Facilities, Manning & Marder, Kass, Ellrod, founding partner of Apogi and chair of "Career Launchpad." Tony Safoian - Nominated by the Universal City/North Hollywood Jaycees President, CEO of SADA Systems, Inc., Board member of Brooks and Brooks Foundation and UC/NoHo Chamber of Commerce. Michael Owston - Nominated by the Santa Clarita Valley Jaycees Artistic Director, Repertory East Playhouse, member of Attic Theatre Ensemble and The 24 Hour Plays Ensemble in Los Angeles. Jill Jackson - Nominated by the Santa Clarita Valley Jaycees Owner Dessert Alert, Host of "The Better Half" radio show, found on KHTS. Celia Beatrice Gallardo - Nominated by the Santa Clarita Valley Jaycees Owner, Gold Feather Realty, co-founder of the Hispanic Business Committee. Sarah Reinertsen - Nominated by the San Diego Jaycees Motivational Speaker and Athlete, Always Tri, Inc., the first woman amputee to complete the Hawaii Ironman Triathlon.
